The Men’s Hockey Club is one of the
biggest, most thriving and competitive sports clubs in the
University of St Andrews.
In
the 2008/09 season, the club had three teams competing on
Wednesdays in the university BUCS Leagues. On Saturdays, the
1stXI were crowned champions of the Scottish
National League Division 3, and the 2ndXI were
also promoted from Scottish Midlands Division 1. Off the
pitch, the club enjoys a large social aspect. This is
highlighted by the weekly socials, and annual events such as
the Hockey Ball. The 09/10 season sees the club becoming a
university ‘focus’ club for the first time, and we welcome
all new members of all abilities.
We are
coached by a Scottish International and train twice
a week, Wednesdays at 3.30pm & Thursdays at 5.15pm with
additional 1st XI training on Monday mornings.
